We are sorry to inform that Mr. T.D. Arokiaraj, the headmaster of St. Joseph Middle School passed away a couple of days ago. Mr. T.D. Arokiaraj was a great man who was always there for everyone and helped out a lot. He always supported and showed much appreciation for JRDT and he also helped and supported all the children at his school and he will be very much missed.

His death is really a great loss and we at JRDT wish him to rest in peace.

A good time at JRDT

My husband and I are currently living in Chennai (I am French and my husband is from Canada) and we have the privilege of visiting JRDT from time to time. We really enjoy spending time with the kids, teaching them new games, and bringing some gifts.

They seem to have fun with us too. Each time we visit, they want to play hide and seek, which seems to be their favorite game. The last time we were there, they gave us very nice drawings and it was very touching. Their situation is pretty tough. Some of them lost their parents in a fire accident and others have parents who are no longer living or are too poor to provide for their child. As a result, JRDT provides a home and food for them with help from SISTERS and A.S.B.

We always think about what we can provide to JRDT and give our time and love to those kids.

I am trying to help JRDT to get more funds but the task isn't easy for the rural development projects, JRDT included. If you are reading this I would like you to know that you can help. Of course the best option would be to give a financial donation but there are also so many other things you can donate.

At the moment they need land, a building for a children home and more. For instance are we right now trying to start a free computer center for the children at the orphanage and women and men in our and surrounding villages. The computer center is in big need of UPS,CHAIRS,TABLES and more. It would be great if you could help out with this.

You can always ask your friends if they want to get rid of some things that may no longer be of use to them. That's how we help them too. Last time we brought a lot of old glasses because they could use them for the eye care needs of the community. Instead of getting rid of what you have or selling it, maybe you can give it to people that really need it. You can either contact them through this blog, directly or visit their website.
